Tawila, August 22(Darfur24) Hundreds of people  are affected by the internal conflict among the Sudan Liberation Movement, headed by Abdel Wahed Mohamed Nour.

 

Residents  living  in different villages in the areas of Al-Aradib alashra, east of Jabal Marra , face harsh humanitarian conditions.

 

Reports by organizations working in the humanitarian field, including the Child Protection Organization (UNICEF), revealed the arrival of (1700) new families to Ketur in Tawila locality in North Darfur last July, and the report added that these population groups need urgent humanitarian assistance.

 

The eastern Jabal Marra  region is witnessing recurring conflicts amid Nour’s forces, which have pushed hundreds of families, especially children and women, to flee.

 

Ismail Mohamed Ahmed, director of the Water and Environmental Sanitation Project in North Darfur State, told Darfur 24 that his administration has provided first aid materials to the affected people, since their arrival, but they need urgent intervention, revealing that the displaced are concentrated around the old camp.
