Khartoum, August 18(Darfur24) The head of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, Malik Agar and its Secretary-General,  Yasser Arman, announced the division of the movement against the background of differences in the positions that struck the movement after the leader of the movement, Malik Agar, supported the coup of the army commander on October 25, and continued his membership in the Sovereignty Council.

The announcement of the SPLM split came after a meeting held in Khartoum yesterday, Wednesday, which included “Yasser Arman and Malik Agar,” at the initiative of a member of the Sovereign Council, head of the Revolutionary Front, Hadi Idris, with the aim of reaching an agreement to unify the movement.

The two parties issued a joint statement – seen by Darfur 24 – in which they said that the issues in dispute are fundamental and deep and it is difficult to agree on them, and the two parties to the SPLM should not waste their energies on unproductive disputes.

According to the  statement , Aqar and Arman agreed to separate in an amicable manner, establishing a respectable legacy, in the literature of difference.
