Khartoum, July 19(Darfur24) Hundreds of Hausa tribe members organized  processions today, Monday,  starting from Mayo residential area, south of the capital, Khartoum, and continued  up to  Freedom Square, the former Green Square.

 

Some protesters spoke to Darfur24 ,  indicating that the processions were on their way to the presidential palace in the center of the capital, Khartoum, to convey their voices rejecting the recent tribal clashes in the Blue Nile region last week.

 

The recent tribal clashes left 79 people dead and  199 others injured , in addition to the burning of shops.

 

The protesters denounced the detention of Hausa citizens living in the cities of the Blue Nile, including women, children and the elderly, describing the matter as a provocation.

 

Thousands of Hausa, Fallata and Borno tribes in El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state in central Sudan, went out in rallies to protest the events that took place in Blue Nile State.

 

Darfur 24 reporter in El Obeid,  said the protesters headed to the state government headquarters, handed a memo to the designated governor, Fadlallah Muhammad Ali al-Tom.

 

AASince the beginning of last week, the Blue Nile region has witnessed sharp tribal clashes between the “Fung” tribes and the Hausa tribe, and the repercussions soon spread to the states of Kassala, Al-Jazeera and the capital, Khartoum.
