Darfur24 has learned from close sources that the Special
Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Sudan
and Head of the UNITAMS Mission, Volker , will visit El Geneina, the
capital of West Darfur State, on Saturday, to meet with the
Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed
Hamdan Dagalo.
The sources said that the UN mission informed the government of West
Darfur state of Volcker’s visit, and indicated that the UN envoy will
meet with the Vice-President of the Sovereign Council,
Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, at the headquarters of the
West Darfur government for official discussions.
The Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council,
Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, has been in the city of El
Geneina since June 19, in a visit that raised many questions in light
of the political situation the country is going through.
