Nyala, June 29(Darfur24) Hundreds of protesters in the city of Nyala,
the capital of South Darfur, organized night propaganda rallies
yesterday, Tuesday, that roamed the neighborhoods of the largest city
in Darfur in preparation for tomorrow, Thursday, the June 30.
For its part, the govt organized a military parade of its joint
forces , down town Nyala on Wednesday morning , one day ahead of
June 30 processions.
One of the night protest organizers , Muhammad Hassan, told Darfur 24
that tomorrow is a pivotal day in the history of Sudan, and the
partcipation of hundreds in night processions is evidence of the
change that all members of the Sudanese people seek.
Hassan called on the security services not to attack or suppress
anyone who goes out in order to achieve the supreme national benefit
and improve people’s lives in freedom, peace and justice, according to
him.
The Security Committee in South Darfur organized a parade of joint
forces with dozens of military vehicles and various weapons, including
rocket launchers and cannons.
Citizens denounced the show of force at this time, and one of the
citizens commented: “A state that buys weapons and pays salaries from
citizen taxes cannot reward its people with a show of force on the eve
of calls to demonstrate for a civil state”.
The Nyala Resistance Committees and the revolutionary bodies had
called on the citizens of Nyala to come out on Thursday in order to
bring down the October 25 coup and build a civil state.
According to a high-ranking security source who spoke to Darfur 24,
preparations for June 30 began last Sunday, with a recommendation to
secure facilities, government institutions, banks and vital roads and
protect the processions, denying any intention to attack the
protesters .
