The city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, will witness next
Sunday, the third of July, graduation of the first batch of security
forces in Darfur, which was stipulated in the Juba Peace Agreement.
The Joint Higher Committee for Security Arrangements said that the
graduation ceremony will be supervised by the President of the
Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and
the parties to the peace process in Darfur, along with a number of
ambassadors of countries representing diplomatic missions in the
country.
The governor of North Darfur, Nimr Muhammad Abdul Rahman, told Darfur
24 that the first batch of the security forces that will be graduated
includes 1,700 soldiers belonging to five movements: (the Sudan
Liberation Army, the Transitional Council, Justice and Equality, the
Sudan Liberation Army, Minawi’s faction, the Sudanese coalition led by
Khamis Abkar, and the Rally of Forces Movement).
