El-fashir, June 26(Darfur24) Residents of the Koolgi area 30 km
southwest of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, accused
elements of Sudan Liberation Movements,  led by  of Minawi Arko
Minawi, and the Sudan Liberation Forces Movement, led by a member of
the Sovereign Council, Taher Hajar, of being behind the attack that
targeted  the village of Qlab on Friday evening.

Mayor of Kolgi arera, Ramadan Aziriq Ali told Darfur 24 that the
forces of the Minawi and Hajar movements, no less than 39 armed men
who were on cars, infiltrated from Zamzam camp for the displaced took
positions  east of  Kolgi village them carried out the attack using
heavy and small weapons, which caused great terror and panic for
children and women, indicating that the residents were able to repel
the attack.

Aziraq stated that the herders and the nomads have been subjected to
many attacks since the Kolgi incidents last August, the most recent of
which was the attack on a shepherd in the Qalab area and the looting
of 45 sheep.

Governor Nimr Muhammad Abdul Rahman confirmed to Darfur 24 the
dispatch of a joint force to map the incident and search for the
identity of the perpetrators who carried out the attack.

While Omar Abdel Rahman, the young leader in the Zamzam camp for the
displaced, accused leaders inside the camp of covering up the
criminals, adding that there are parties seeking to destabilize

The Wali of North Darfur State had called for the camps to be free
from weapons  and warned members of some armed movements to take
shelter in the camps for the displaced in El Fasher city.
