Khartoum, June 3(Darfur24) The Central Committee of Sudan Doctors
announced the killing of a protester in Khartoum, as a result of
shooting by Sudanese security forces, on Friday, to disperse a
gathering to commemorate the massacre that dispersed the sit-in in
front of the army command in 2019.
In June 2019, joint forces killed more than 100 people who were at a
sit-in in front of the army command.
According to a statement by the committee, a protester was killed
after being hit in the chest by live bullets fired by the coup forces
in abundance during their suppression of the processions in Al-Sahafa
neighbourhood.
The Troika demanded that the results of the investigation into the
killing of dozens infront of the army headquarters in Khartoum in 2019
to be disclosed.
A statement by the group said today, Friday, “Sudanese security
forces during the period of military rule three years ago on June 3,
2019 targeted a peaceful demonstration outside the General Command in
Khartoum, killing more than 100 people in a brutal massacre”.
The statement affirmed that the Troika (Norway, the United Kingdom and
the United States) stands in solidarity with the survivors and
victims’ and joins the Sudanese in calling for an urgent solution by
the government-appointed investigation committee and the disclosure of
the results to the public.
Troika urged the military authorities to bring to justice those
responsible for these horrific crimes against peaceful civilian
protesters.
On Friday, the security forces fired tear gas and live bullets at
gatherings of demonstrators, who went out in the cities of the capital
(Omdurman, Khartoum and Bahri )to commemorate the third anniversary of
the massacre of the army headquarters.
