Nyala, June 1(Darfur24) A seventeen -year -old girl was killed and four other girls were injured in the “Daqis” area, 39 km southeast of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, after being beaten by their
brothers and some of their cousins on Tuesday afternoon.
One of the citizens of the area, Adam Saeed Abdul Karim, told Darfur 24 that the inccident occurred yesterday afternoon in a cellular area near the village of Daqis and was discovered at noon and the girl’s
body was transferred to the city of Balil, east of Nyala, then was referred to Nyala Teaching Hospital, to complete the burial procedures after the autopsy , Refusing to disclose other information
about the incident.
Fatima Abdullah, resident of the area, told Darfur 24 the causes of the inccident, and said that the brothers of the murdered girl were found a phone in possession , and they took her with other girls to
the valley near the village, and they beat them, which led to severe injuries.
She stated that a girl coming from the humiliation saw the youth while torturing the girls, so she rushed and informed the villagers, and when they went to the site, they found one of them died, while the
rest injuries were severe. A medical source at Nyala Teaching Hospital confirmed the arrival of the girl’s body to the hospital, and he refused to mention more details.
Meanwhile, a police source confirmed filing a case under Article 130 of the Criminal Code at the Police Department of Balile, and the arrest of some perpetrators, confirmed, while the rest of the
defendants are being pursued in the crime.
Two similar incidents occurred in the villages of East Darfur State, in which five girls were killed in the areas of “Capricorn, Jamal, Sarg” for reasons related to finding mobile phones with girls or
pregnancy outside the marital scope.
The ownership of the mobile phone with some Darfur communities is prohibited for girls, as they are allowed only to use a family’s phone, and that the calls you make are within the family domain.
