Khartoum, May 16(Darfur24) The Group of seven  leading  industrialized
nations  ,( G7), “Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United
Kingdom, the United States of America, and the High Representative of
the European Union”, have  called for the immediate lifting of the
state of emergency that was  implemented since the army  ousted the
civilian-led government and seized power in Sudan  last October 25.

In addition , the world  largest developed economies , asked for  the
immediate release of all detainees, an end to sexual and gender-based
violence against demonstrators, and an end to the practice of
arbitrary arrest and detention, stressing the need to achieve justice
for victims and survivors.

In a statement seen by Darfur24 , the group demanded a return to a
civilian-led transition, and pledged the resumption of economic
support and international debt relief, and to help Sudan resolve the
economic crisis by restoring the government with a credible civilian
leadership.
