Nyala, May 7 (Darfur24) Four  shepherds under the age of 18 were killed yesterday evening, Friday, in the “Gneima” area of El Salam locality, 50 km southwest of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur.

According to an eyewitness from the area who spoke to Darfur 24, unidentified persons using two “Land Cruisers” attacked shepherds while they were at the water supply to water the livestock, and fired a hail of bullets at them, killing 4 children on the spot, before the perpetrators fled to an unknown destination under cover of dark.

 

The southern region of the state capital witnesses continuous killing and looting, as two people were killed on Thursday evening, one of them a football referee and the other a musician, after the car carrying them was exposed to an armed robbery and the car and its driver were kidnapped.

 

The director of the state police, the rapporteur of the Security Committee, Major General Muhammad Ahmad Abdullah Al-Zain, told Darfur 24 that the police pushed additional cars to search for the perpetrators in the incident, monitor their movements information and track them down to arrest them.
