The Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, the Commander of Rapid Support Forces Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo ,and the second commander of the Rapid Support Forces; Abdel Rahim Dagalo were absent from the emergency meeting of the Security and Defense Council on Kirenik events in West Darfur, amid accusations of the participation of the Rapid Support Forces in the fighting.
Governor of Darfur region Minawi, told Darfur 24 that no reasons were given for the absence of the leaders of the rapid support, and the emergency meeting comes after bloody hours of fighting that claimed dozens of lives.
The local authorities counted 151 dead and 96 wounded in the events that took place in Karenk on Sunday, including 17 children, and more than 27 women, in addition to 4 dead from the attacking force who were handed over to their families.
However, direct clashes took place Sunday evening between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Alliance Movement led by the Governor of West Darfur, Khamis Abdullah, in the vicinity of El Geneina Hospital, resulting in the killing of four members of the movement, including the commander of El Geneina sector.
