El-Geneina, April 24 (Darfur24) On Sunday morning, armed militias launched an attack on the Karinak area 80 km east of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur state, for the second time in three days.
The Karenak area is has been witnessing tribal fighting against the background of the killing of two shepherds last Friday.
The first attack left more than 16 people dead, dozens wounded, and more than 80,000 families fled to the city center, the headquarters of the army.
According to the statements of the Secretary of the Government of West Darfur State, Muhammad Zakaria, the government authorities sent large military reinforcements to the area on Saturday and gave members of the security forces a written authorization to use force against anyone showing signs of security disavowal.

Meanwhile, sources revealed to Darfur 24 the involvement of armed movements in the tribal conflict, and videos broadcast on social media showed the participation of members of the armed movements in the fighting, while some reports indicate that the forces of one of the armed struggle movements were stationed in the Karinak area a week before the attack, Darfur 24 has not been able to verify these accusations from independent bodies.
