Khartoum April 19 (Darfur 24) The Public Prosecution rejected a request from the defense team of “Tupac, El-Nina, and Essam,” the accused in the killing of the police chief; Burma investigation with elements of the Central Reserve Police.
The member of the defense said; Nasser Idris, “for Darfur 24”, that the prosecution did not mention any reasons for rejecting the request and added, “The prosecution is used to that.”
The Defense Authority had requested investigations with members of the Central Reserve Police who appeared in a video clip at the time of the killing of the officer, Berima, during demonstrations against the October 25 coup.
The video clip showed one of the soldiers carrying a white weapon, with traces of blood on it, while they were expressing their anger over the killing of the brigadier general.
The defense team said that refusing the request forfeits a basic right of the defendants guaranteed by the laws, considering the refusal to be a shortcoming in the work of the prosecution and a violation of the defendants’ right and their defence.
Nasser explained that the Public Prosecution should have conducted investigations with the group that appeared in the video clip before the defense team’s request, because the suspicion occurred, as he put it.
