Nyala, March 11(Darfur24) The markets of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, western Sudan, witnessed an unprecedented rise in consumer prices, and an increase in transportation tariffs in the city.
Darfur24 correspondent in Nyala monitored an increase in the transportation tariff for rickshaw and bus drivers in the city from 100SDG to 150SDG without the competent authorities announcing the new tariff, at a time when citizens complained about the increase in transportation tariffs, and demanded the government to control transportation tariffs by issuing specific publications after the increase in fuel prices .
While a bus driver , Yassin Omar, attributed the tariff increase to the increase in fuel prices, as the price of a gallon of gasoline increased from 2600 puounds to 3100 pounds, and the black market to 3500 pounds, and gasoline from 2400 to 2900 pounds, while its price on the black market increased to 3000 pounds
