Khartoum, Feb 14(Darfur24) Informed sources told Darfur24 that Sudanese authorities had arrested the prominent politician, Mohamed Alfaki Sunday, and transferred him to Soba prison on the outskirts of the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
The source stated that the authorities also transferred to Soba Prison, police officers Lt. Col. Abdullah Suleiman and Major Awad Karendis, who were members of the committee to dismantle the June 30 regime.
According to the source, members of the empowerment removal committee were not investigated , however, all of whom are facing charges under Article 177 of the Criminal Code, (Breach of Trust).
In a related development, Authorities transferred leader of the committee; Wajdi Saleh, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Khaled Omar to Soba prison, but according to the source, they were not investigated, while the Darfur 24 follow-up reported the transfer of the committee member; Al-Tayyib Othman to solitary confinement in Soba prison after being investigated by police.
