31.12.2021(Khartoum) Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Dr. Abdul-Baqi Abdul-Qadir Al-Zubair, submitted today, Friday his resignation as member of the Sovereign Council.
Abdel-Baqi said in his resignation which was handwritten and seen by Darfur 24 that the excessive violence in dealing with the demonstrators during the December 30 processions was what prompted him to submit his resignation.
Dr. Haitham said in his justifications for his resignation that the political tension that the country is experiencing has affected health and its supportive partners, with the suspension of funding for health programs without any signs of resolving this crisis.
He added, “The matter worsened and pressure on the Ministry of Health and health institutions increased, killing and injuries increased to the extent that our hospitals were unable to cope with the situation, which required the call of volunteers and associations to fill the gaps.”
