15.12.2021(Khartoum) Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok said that the delay in forming the transitional government is attributed to the involvement of the political forces supporting the revolution and the civil democratic transition in a serious and deep dialogue in order to agree on a national charter and create a broad front to achieve and fortify the democratic civil transition.
Hamdok tweeted on Tuesday, that “the national consensus constitutes a national framework to unify the ranks, establish a mechanism to form a government of national competencies, as well as complete the structures of the transitional authority and monitor its work, in order to achieve the priorities of the remainder of the transitional period”.
It’s worth noting that Hamdok and the Sudanese army chief, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, had signed a political agreement on November 21, according to which he returned to the position of prime minister after his removal from office under the decisions of the October 25 coup.
According to the agreement, the Prime Minister should engage in forming a technocratic government as soon as possible, but the step was delayed due to the involvement of political forces in a dialogue that pave the way for a national charter.
