November6, 2021 (Khartoum) On Friday, the International Human Rights Council adopted a draft resolution on Sudan condemning the army’s seizure of power and calling for the formation of a transitional civilian government.
The draft resolution submitted by the United States, Britain and Germany calls on the army leaders to immediately restore power to the transitional civilian government headed by Abdullah Hamdok, and to appoint a special rapporteur to examine the human rights situation in the wake of the repression of protesters against the coup carried out by the Sudanese army General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan on October 25.
