September 13, 2021 (Nyala) The Board of Directors of Nyala University in South Darfur decided on Sunday to withdraw confidence from the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mahmoud Adam Daoud, and recommend his dismissal.
The Council held an extraordinary meeting headed by Engineer Muhammad Abdullah Sharif, during which it listened to reports from the deans of the faculties of medicine, engineering sciences, and economics.
The council’s decision stated in its rationale which Darfur 24 has seen that after reviewing the administrative situation in the university and after consulting the legal advisor of the university, the council, by an absolute majority, issued a number of decisions to withdraw confidence from the university Vice-Chancellor.
The council also decided to cancel all decisions of the Vice-Chancellor pertaining to the appointment , assignment or relieving of deans and directors, which were taken without consulting to the chairman of board of directors.
The meeting authorized the Chairman of board of directors to form any committee whenever necessary, and a voice of blame was directed at the university’s vice-rector, the rapporteur of the board of directors and the secretary of scientific affairs for their absence from the council meeting..
