July 1, 2021 (Khartoum) Rapporteur of the Legislative Council Formation Committee in the ruling coalition, Amina Al-Shain, told Darfur 24 that the committee is still waiting for 5 states to finalize their nominations.
Juba peace agreement stipulated formation of the Legislative Council from the revolution’s partners in a maximum period of 3 months, but the formation process was delayed despite repeated demands.
The rapporteur said that the committee held eight meetings with the resistance committees, noting that some of them accepted the participation, while other groups refused, however Alshain had reservations about setting a date for ending the committee’s work..
