Khartoum, June 28 -A stormy meeting held at the freedom square between the Sudanese minister of Interior and police forces on Monday ended in failure.
However, the angry policemen chanted slogans forcing the interior minister to walk away from the meeting.
Hundreds of officers and non-commissioned officers gathered in a meeting aimed at boosting morale, but the minister, director general and senior officers were surprised by what resembled police mutiny.
A reliable source told local media outlets that the arrangement for the meeting was not good, and that the Minister of Interior did not respond to some reports that advised him not to attend the meeting due to mobilization among soldiers and non-commissioned officers .
The sources said that the minister’s remarks did not express aspirations of the police forces , especially since the meeting came only two days before the announced calls for a general strike among the police forces..
A large number of police officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers expressed their discontent with the words of the Minister, which did not touch their real problems, especially since he mentioned in the entirety of his speech: that whoever wanted to submit his resignation, the door “is widely opened,” an expression that angered the police forces
