Darfur 24- Nyala
Member of the Sovereignty Council, Al-Taher Hajar, said that the delay in implementing the security arrangements clause of the Sudan Peace Agreement in Juba was due to estimated circumstances, confirming that security arrangements must be implemented.
Addressing a rally in the city of Nyala, capital of South Darfur, on Saturday Hajar stated that the provision of security arrangements aims to form a unified national army.
Hajar mentioned that the problem of Sudan is not a problem of religion and state, but rather a problem of diversity management.
He added: “Failure to manage diversity prevents large population groups from participating in decision-making in the state”.
Hajar said that transitional justice stipulated in the agreement does not mean waiving the criminal court, adding that any person who committed crimes against the Sudanese people must appear before the International Criminal Court.
”We have agreed that Albashir, Ahmed Haroun and all those who committed crimes in Darfur must face justice” concluded Hajar.
