Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, announced a complete write off of Sudan’s debt arrears to the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the African Development Bank.
In a press statement after the special session on dealing with Sudan’s debts on Monday, Hamadok expressed his happiness with the outcomes of the Paris conference, saying, “the conference allowed Sudan to present to the world the change, challenges and priorities.
For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a write off of one and a half billion dollars in France’s debt on Sudan.
Prime Minister Hamdok affirmed that the Paris conference constitutes the beginning of a very solid and reassuring relationship for Sudan’s return to the International community.
