Darfur 24- El-Geneina
Security authorities in West Darfur have closed 4 markets during night hours in El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur, due to security incidents and killings in those markets.
A community leader told Darfur 24 that the security committee informed them that it had issued directives to close the markets of Al-Zariba, Aljamarik, Al-Aradaiba, and the Arab Market becuaes they had become hotbeds for outlaws and security chaos.
The community leader explained that the security forces deployed large military reinforcements in those areas and were authorized to use force according to the law.
In another incident, a university student was killed by the army’s fire when the car in which she was traveling was shot, after her driver refused to stop at a military checkpoint.
