Doctors of Nyala Teaching Hospital in South Darfur State have called off their three- day strike.
Doctors in the largest hospital in Darfur began a strike on Saturday, April 24, 2021 after a doctor was attacked by a member of the patient’s family .
The Doctors Committee had pledged not to end the strike unless perpetrators are brought to trial and provided the necessary protection for the medical personnel working in Nyala Teaching Hospital.
In a statement seen by Darfur 24, the committee stated that it had met with the general director of the hospital and the legal department of the hospital to discuss the doctors’ demands.
Attacks on medical personnel at Sudan’s hospitals have recently become a common phenomenon .
