The Sudanese Security and Defense Council has backed a security plan proposed by chairman of Sudan’s sovereign council Abdel Fatah Al Burhan during his recent visit to west Darfur State.
Head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, visited El Geneina on Tuesday and Wednesday, where he issued a number of directives and measures pertaining to restoration of security to El-Geneina, west Darfur.
For his part, Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen. Yassin Ibrahim Yassin said in a press statement that the measures included limiting the movement of affiliates of the armed struggle movements, preventing the wearing of military uniforms in the city until the security arrangements are completed, and preventing the movement of vehicles of the regular forces and security services inside markets and residential neighborhoods.
The minister said that the council recommended strengthening the efforts of organizations working in the humanitarian field, providing assistance to those affected by the conflict, and activating the role of civil administrations
