Citizens of Al-Wehda locality, 13 kilometers north of the city of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, have appealed to the state government to impose state authority and collect unlicensed weapons from the citizens.
Addressing a crowd in the village where three farmers had recently been killed by herders , the governor pledged that the government would work to control the security situation and put an end to the killings that occur from time to time throughout the state, promising to establish a police station in a village to protect the citizens, and said that the accused who were arrested will be brought to a fair trial.
commander of the 16th Infantry Division, Major General Muhammad Al-Amin, revealed that joint forces will be directed in the coming days to the northern localities for the task of disarming the citizens, emphasizing that government forces have the ability to protect citizens and impose state authority.
