Trucks and cars carrying goods have been allowed to enter the city of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur as roadblocks were removed, following an agreement reached between protesters and the federal delegation visiting the state these days.
Observers in the city of El Geneina expected that the flow of trucks into the city’s market would stabilize the prices of basic goods, which have risen madly during the past days due to the protesters ’closure of roads and bridges for more than 10 days.
Head of the government delegation, Muhammad al-Faki Suleiman, said in a press statement that “the roads in El-Geneina city were opened by agreement of all parties after meeting the demands of the sit-in,” indicating that goods flowed naturally into the city today.
