Empowerment Removal Sub-Committee for Combating Corruption and Recovering Public Funds in South Darfur State, said that it had decided on a number of corruption files related to land and civil service, in addition to public project contracts.

The committee also revealed the termination of contracts in the name of the “Land for Development” project, which the defunct regime had concluded with companies for the construction of the Nyala Stock Exchange and the Land Terminal , at a cost of 26,529,460 SDG in 2014.

The committee stated in a press conference in Nyala on Tuesday that it had recovered a plot of land that was allocated to wife of a former governor.

The rapportuer of the sub-committee for the removal of empowerment in the state, Hashem Abdullah Zakaria, stated that the committee also recovered the animal production project known as “Farzeen cows” from the former Minister of Social Affairs, “Buthaina Muhammad Ahmad”, who used her position and transferred funds allocated to vulnerable groups for her own benefit.

ERC sub-committee announced the dismissal of 22 employees from government institutions, the most prominent of whom are four leaders of the State Radio and Television Corporation, as well as dissolving 131 associations.
