Teachers in North Darfur have threatened to hold a general strike on Wednesday, December 30, in the event that the state government fails to fulfill their financial dues.

However,  the teachers organized a protest in front of the headquarters of the state government secretariat, in which they declared their intention to go on strike tomorrow, Wednesday, if the government did not respond to their demands.

The representative of the State Teachers Committee, Mubasher Mahmoud told Darfur 24 that they have ten demands.

The subsidiary body of the Al Fasher Local Teachers Syndicate and the Association of El Fasher Teachers issued a proactive statement on December 28, warning teachers not to receive their monthly wages unless all dues and  arrears are paid .
