The General Coordination of IDPs and Refugees in Darfur has called for the resumption of sit-in in Kalma camp in South Darfur state, as of December 29, 2020 to January 1, 2021, to reject the exit of UNAMID mission from Darfur region.
The UN Security Council confirmed in its session yesterday, Tuesday, that the joint mission between the United Nations and the African Union for peacekeeping in the Darfur region of Sudan will end its mission on December 31, after more than 13 years.
The official spokesperson for the General Coordination of the Displaced Persons and Refugees issued a statement seen by Darfur 24 called on all political, cultural, social and religious components of solidarity with the displaced to pressure the Security Council to reverse the decision to withdraw the mission.
