December 15, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudan’s Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdok has revealed that Sudan managed to obtain 8,400,000 doses of vaccine for treatment of Covid-19 pandemic, saying that these doses will reach the country soon.
Hamdok stated that this step would not have taken place without the breakthrough that was achieved, thanks to the removal of Sudan’s name from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
Speaking at a press conference in the capital Khartoum, Hamadok said the doses will be directed to the most needy groups, such as medical personnel and the elderly.
He said Sudan had lost many lives in the second wave, which he described as the most ferocious, but he stressed that the government will not close health facilities or completely close the country, as happened in the first phase.
