December 4, 2020 (Khartoum) The Sudanese Council of Ministers announced Friday, that it did not agree to the decision to form the Council of Partners for the Transitional Period, and called on all parties to review its composition and terms of reference in light of the constitutional document governing the transitional period that defines the tasks of all levels of government.

The head of the sovereign council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, issued a degree on Thursday, to establish a council for the partners of the transitional period, consisting of 29 members, including a number of leaders of the armed struggle movements.

Minister of Information, Faisal Muhammad Salih, said: “What was discussed in the joint meeting between the Sovereign Council and the Council of Ministers and was approved by the executive body, about the role of the Council of Partners was limited only as a coordination body, to resolve disputes and differences between parties of Transitional period.

Mohamed salih emphasized that the authority to monitor, follow up, account, and direct the transitional period is the exclusive authority of the Legislative Council, which requires expediting its formation in an expanded manner that is representative of all revolutionary forces, resistance committees and civil society.
