November 16, 2020 (El-Fashir) Large military forces belonging to the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA), led by Minni Arko Minawi, arrived in the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur on Monday.
According to the official Sudan news agency SUNA, the troops consist of hundreds of soldiers on a large convoy of four-wheel drive cars and military vehicles coming from the northern parts of the state in support of the Sudan Peace agreement..
The Secretary of Communication and External Relations of the movement, Muhammad Adam Kish, said in press statements that the arrival of the forces comes within the framework of supporting the peace process.
The forces of the Sudan Liberation Army, which arrived in El Fasher Monday, are headed by General Jamah Kamoun, accompanied by General Tahir Dushku and a number of other field commanders.
However, they were received at the northern entrance to the city of El Fasher, by the representative of the state government, the official spokesperson for the government, Khalil Musa, the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Brigadier General Gedo Hamdan Abu Nashouk, a number of officials and a large number of citizens.
The forces, as they approached the entrance to the city, organised a military parade, demonstrating the power of their army, amid the presence of a large crowd.
