The national Umma Party announced the initiation of arrangements to transfer its leader, Imam Sadiq al-Mahdi, to the UAE to continue the journey of his treatment from the Corona virus.
The Umma Party said in a statement issued by the General Secretariat today, Monday, that despite the stability of the Mahdi’s condition, who was transferred to a private hospital and his response to treatment, “but the party’s advocacy and political institutions saw his transfer by a private plane to the UAE.
The statement indicated that procedures are underway to transfer the Mahdi at the end of this day to Abu Dhabi despite his personal preference to continue treatment in Sudan, at Alia Hospital. It is noteworthy that the virus infected all the Mahdi family and a number of party leaders, and it was announced last week that the chief advisor to the prime minister, Sheikh Al-Khader and his office manager, Ali Bakhit, as well as the governor of the Bank of Sudan, were also infected.
