October 20, 2020 (Nyala) One person was killed and others were wounded in an attack by armed men on the city of Gereida, 85 km south of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur.
Sources from Gereida said that armed men from the Fallata tribe launched two simultaneous attacks on the city of Gereida from the southern and western sides, and fired a hail of bullets that killed the citizen “Issa Bashir” and wounded others, in addition to burning a number of houses.
According to the sources, the causes of the problem are due to the conflict between the Fallata and Masalit tribes over some of the border areas between the Gereida and Talis localities, which are inhabited by the two tribes.
