October 16, 2020 (Nyala) Infrastructure and roads linking the cities of the Darfur region dominated the words of the governors of the five Darfur states at the opening session of their coordination meeting held in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, on Thursday.
Governors of the five states of Darfur, leaders of the army, police and rapid support forces, in addition to the directors of the ministries of infrastructure and the leaders of the Native Administration, representing the tribes of Darfur, participated in the forum.
For his part, governor of North Darfur, Muhammad Hassan Arabi, said that the states of Darfur suffer from common problems that have made them behind history and their villages are isolated cautions, and that they are not only marginal areas but also marginalized areas – as he said.
Arabi noted that Darfur still has problems with water, health, electricity and roads, which are old problems. Therefore, the governments of the states of Darfur and the citizens must work as one region to overcome these issues.
The Wali of Central Darfur, Dr. Adeeb Abdel-Rahman, said that the issues facing all of the states of Darfur are common and need a positive view. He stated that crimes and security problems must be put
to an end, and to develop resources for tourism, agriculture, pastoralism and investment.
Whereas, the governor of East Darfur, Muhammad Issa Aliu, said that there is no excuse for the people of Darfur for a war between them or a contradiction in the relationship between the shepherd and the
farmer, and added, “Therefore this coordination meeting came to make the relationship between them good and pure.
The Wali of West Darfur stated that the meeting will also discuss the issue of the regions and whether they are suitable for this stage, noting that the tribal problems in Darfur in which the former regime
played a bad game by bringing some tribes closer to it and distancing others.
Meanwhile, representative of the security committees of the states , police brigade said that the regular forces will work as a ream to provide security in the states of Darfur and said that of state
authority will remain a red line that the regular forces work to maintain through joint security plans between the state security committees, and he mentioned that the leaders of the police forces And
the army and rapid support participants in the meeting will develop joint plans to achieve what the Darfuri citizen desires in the security fields.
