October 9, 2020 (El-Geneina) Citizens of Tandalati, 30 kilometers north of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur, have staged a sit-in against the backdrop of the killing of a citizen and the escape of
perpetrators.
Eyewitnesses told Darfur 24 that armed men in Tandelti area shot dead a man named Muhammad Abu and managed escape, pointing out that the security situation in the region is very deteriorating, and the
outlaws move freely in the border strip between Sudan and Chad.
One of the sit-in organizers , Mohamad Abaker, told Darfur 24 that their demands are limited to arresting the perpetrators, bringing them to trial, holding the outlaws accountable, and providing security
protection for residents.
However, the protesters have also demanded provision of water, electricity and communications services, and raising the region’s share of flour and fuel
