September 18, 2020 (Al-Geneina) Armed men have shot dead two residents of Mornie village, 80kms South of Algeneina, west Darfur.
Mayor Adam Ishaq told Darfur 24 that On thursday, gunmen opened fire on the farmer, Mubarak Juma, inside his farm in the Aish Bara area, west of Mornei.
Adam Ishag explained that the families followed the trail of the perpetrators and when they approached them, a clash took place betweenthe two sides. Hamed Abdel-Rahman was seriously injured. He was transferred to Mornei Hospital for treatment, but he died of his wounds.
Sudan, especially its border states, suffers from the massive proliferation of arms, especially in the Darfur region, in the west of the country, which has witnessed a civil war since 2003.
