September 8, 2020 (Elfashir) Sudanese authorities have released 19 Chadians from Shala Federal Prison in North Darfur.
The prisoners who were set free on Tuesday, were among a group of foreign nationals , arrested earlier this year by rapid support forces RSF in the desert.on their way to Libya through the desert to fight as mercenaries with the parties to the ongoing conflict there.
A Chadian national, called Douma Adam Timan, told Darfur 24 that the process of releasing them was based on the efforts of the International Organization for Migration and the directives of the governor of North Darfur state, Mohamed Hassan Arabi.
Adam explained that there are arrangements made by the international organization for migration with the Sudanese government to release others, including three Syrians, three Ethiopians and one Libyan,
along with another person from South Sudan.
The Libyan Government of National Accord, recognized by the United Nations and based in Tripoli, accuses Sudanese parties of sending mercenaries to fight alongside the forces of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, which the Sudanese government absolutely denies.
