September 3, 2020 (Nyala) The second commander of the 16th Infantry Division, Brigadier General Faisal Al-Alam, on Thursday received a memorandum of authorization from a group – calling itself,
coordination for mandating the army in South Darfur to take power in the country .
The memorandum , which was read by the leader of the National Congress, a former member of the Legislative Council, Dayan in front of the Army Command in Nyala , called on the armed forces to take over
power, form a government of technocrat , call for comprehensive national reconciliation, as well as the announcing early elections within one year A number of leaders and suuporters of the National Congress Party participated in the procession, which moved from the court round about , in the city center to the HQs of the 16th division, where they handed over a memo to the army.
One of the participants said the second commander of the 16th Infantry Division received the memorandum from the protesters, but he did not make any statements, and returned to his office.
