September 1, 2020O(Khartoum) Acting Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Heba Mohammad Ali, announced the opening of commercial crossings between Sudan and South Sudan, and the strengthening and activation of river transport soon.
However, closure of the crossings at the time was reflected in the collapse of the currency of the state of the South, and worsened economic conditions in light of the dependence of many on goods that
come from Khartoum and Juba.
Minister Heba revealed, during press statements at Khartoum Airport, Tuesday, after her return and the ministerial delegation from Juba, that a ministerial committee has been formed between the two
countries, and that this committee will begin holding its meetings periodically.
Minister Heba stated that the discussion dealt with general issues, including the four freedoms, and special issues related to energy and trade, stressing Sudan’s desire to double economic cooperation and economic benefit with South sudan.
