August 25, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk discussed tuesday,  with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Khartoum removal of Sudan from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, and the US government’s support for the transitional government in Sudan.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Khartoum on Tuesday on the first official direct flight from Tel Aviv to Khartoum, a day after his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in
Jerusalem.

Immediately after Pompeo arrived in Khartoum, he engaged in talks with the Sudanese government officials, where he met the Prime Minister and is expected to meet with the President of the Sovereignty
Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.

“I met with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and we had a direct and transparent conversation in which we discussed the removal of Sudan’s name from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism, bilateral
relations, and the US government’s support for the civilian government,” Hamdok said in a tweet
