August 23, 2020 (Khartoum) U.S State Department announced that Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, will visit Sudan next week, as part of a tour that includes Israel, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirate.
The American administration said Pompeo will discuss with the President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, the continued
support of the United States for the Sudanese transitional government led by civilians.
The US State Department indicated that Pompeo will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem to discuss regional security issues related to Iran’s influence, establishing and
deepening Israel’s relations in the region, as well as cooperation in protecting the American and Israeli economies from bad investors.
U.S government added that the minister will travel to Manama to meet Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and conclude his trip in the UAE by meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and
International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi, to discuss the historical agreement recently signed with Israel as well as regional issues.
