August 5, 2020 Prime Minister of the Sudan, Dr. Abdallah Hamdouk, has called for the necessity of accelerating the formation of the Legislative Councils as a major and fundamental requirement, and one
of the accomplishments of the glorious December revolution that emphasized the importance of the establishment of Legislative Councils that represent the colors of the political spectrum.
The Sudanese government and the forces for freedom and change and representatives of armed movements agreed, in early July, to allocate 75 seats in the Transitional Legislative Councils for armed movements negotiating with the Sudanese government.
Addressing workers in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, today Tuesday, Hamdouk underscored the importance of the Legislative Councils in realizing
aspirations of the Sudanese people.
Dr. Hamdouk emphasized the commitment of the transitional government to fulfill the covenant for the martyrs of the December Revolution, saying: “The most beautiful gift we offer to the martyrs of the
glorious revolution is building a homeland that can accommodate everyone”
The Sudanese Prime Minister affirmed that with the appointment of civilian governors, the government has made great strides in completing the transitional authority structures.
Hamdouk said that this Eid holiday comes and the country is going through many complications and challenges besides the Corona pandemic, calling for the need to adhere to the health guidelines and directives of social spacing and wearing masks to avoid infection with this
disease.
