The Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) has called on the transitional government to make serious reviews on the list of civilian governors appointed on Wednesday, in order to reduce tension in states where
citizens did not accept the selected governor.
However, on Friday, Council of the Sudanese Revolutionary Front, held an extraordinary meeting in which it assessed the political situation in the country and the implications of the recently appointed
civilian governors.
Spokesman for the Revolutionary Front, Osama Saeed, said in a statement received by Darfur 24, that the process of appointing civilian governors from the beginning was accompanied by great challenges, which the Revolutionary Front was aware of, and called for the necessity of extensive consultations with the partners of the revolution, and to follow clear criteria in choosing the civilan rulers, mainly, integrity, competence, scientific and administrative capabilities appropriate to the position and popular acceptance.
The Revolutionary Front had also called for the fair representation of women, and to ensure the participation of local communities in the selection process, adding that ignoring SRF advice , made the process of appointing civilian governors difficult, and a cause of rejection
and acute societal division, which cast negative shadow on the political scene.
Osama emphasized that the appointment of civilian governors is a temporary measure ,until the signing of the peace agreement, , under which the government will be restructured to fulfill peace
entitlements.
“we are close to achieving a peace agreement that ends the scourge of war and contributes to achieving security, stability and development” concluded saeed.
