July 14, 2020 (Khartoum) Member of the Southern Sudan Mediation team, Dr. Matouk, left on Wednesday, the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, heading to Juba.
However, Matouk was accompanied by the government’s security arrangements delegation, to complete the remaining items in the security arrangements file.
During his visit to Sudan, which lasted several days, Matouk, discussed with government officials, issues related to the Sudanese peace.
Signing of the peace agreement between the transitional government and the Revolutionary Front, which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday evening, has been postponed, for further consultations.
Dr. Dayo Matouk, was seen off at Khartoum International Airport, by member of the Transitional Sovereign Council Mohamed Hassan Al-Taishi, Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan to Khartoum and a number of officials.
Peace agreement has been a priority issue for the transitional government which took over power on 19 August, 2019, following the toppling of autocrat, Omar Albashir who had ruled the east African
country for thirty years.
