A high-ranking delegation headed by  member of the Sudanese Council of
Sovereignty, Mohammed Hassan Al-Taishi, arrived in Nertati on Sunday.

The visit comes after a directive issued by the Prime Minister, Dr.
Abdullah Hamdouk, to sit with the citizens of Nirtati and respond to
their demands.

Thousands of protestors who have staged a week-long sit-in ,in front
of the headquarters of the local government in Nertiti, demanding
security for the citizen,  resturcturing  local government officials ,
disarming the militias, secure the agricultural season, arrest the
perpetrators and bring them to justice.

For his part, Minister of Culture and Information, spokesperson for
the government, Faisal Muhammed Salih, stated that the visit comes in
response to the legitimate demands of the citizens of Nirtati.

Speaking to reporters, faisal said that the government appreciates the
civilized behavior of  Nertati citizens, who have resorted to
peaceful sit-in as a mean to convey their message , adding that the
their behavior and approach  reflect the awareness brought to citizens
by the glorious December revolution.

However, the delegation included Minister of Justice Nasr El-Din
Abdel-Bari, Minister of Culture and Information Faisal Mohamed Salih,
Minister of Labor and Social Development Lina Al-Sheikh, FFC leaders ,
director of the General Intelligence Service, Jamal Abdel Hamid, the
second commander of the Rapid Support Forces Abdel Rahim Daqlo and
representatives of the armed forces and the police
