July 3, 2020 (Khartoum) The Sudanese Transitional Government has announced its full solidarity with the protesters, in the town of Nertati, in the state of Central Darfur, saying that a delegation from the central government in Khartoum will leave for Nertati within 48 hours.
Residents of the city of Nerti, have staged a sit-in, in front of the army headquarter since last Friday, calling for provision of security in the area, disarming the militias, alongside securing the agricultural season as well as arresting the perpetrators of crimes and bringing them to justice.
In a press statement , spokesperson for Sudan’s transitional government, Minister of Information, Faisal Mohamed Salih, described the demands of Nertiti protesters as fair and due, and that the
government is currently studying them.
Faisal underlined that a government delegation leaves for Nertiti within two days to meet the masses and hear from them directly. “The delegation heading to Nertiti, will carry the answers for all the
questions raised by the citizens of Nertiti” Mohamed Salh added.
The minister, in the name of the government, apologized on the delay in reaching citizens and responding to their just demands, adding that, “Our message that we carry to Nertiti says to the citizen of Nerati, your voice is heard and your message is received.”
